She was Spectacular. She was Brilliant.

AGAIN WITH RUBI?!? You ask.
Yes, I say, Of course. Who else?

Rubi was selected to be Future Royalty for Homecoming this year.
(Like there was any REAL competition...)
I know I shouldn't encourage her. At all.

All Queens must have their hair done.
Seriously.
It's one of the most important things.
(Thanks Linde for working us in!)

I took LOTS of pictures.
Bad ones.
I have NO idea how to take pictures.
At all.

The day was spent WAITING to hold the crown.
And then someone told her she had to wait some more.
And she cried.
And I said, PSHAW! You just hold that crown, GIRLFRIEND.

So she held it.

And she held it.

And she tried to hide while I took MAAANNY pictures.

And her face says so much...

And she finally got to give it to the Queen.

And finally she sat.

She was spectacular.
She was brilliant.
She did drop the crown.
And she tried really hard not to cry.
And she was spectacular.
And she was brilliant.

She hugged for an hour. Everyone that came through that line.

One last photo.

Tattoos and parade floats and candy to throw.

She was spectacular.
She was brilliant.
The end.

On a different note Hartington suffered a great loss last week. To the Heimes family, your mother was one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure to know. She will be so missed by so many.

To Leslie, good luck to you on the birth of your first baby. You will be the best mom. You've waited a long time for this and I am sure he will be spectacular. He will be brilliant. Best wishes to you and your husband on the next leg of your journey.

  1. Well, here I am checking in on your blog, and what a surprise to see a personal message from you! Thanks so much for the wishes. It was great seeing you, even though the occasion couldn't have been sadder. Best of luck with this blog, the cupcakes and more. You have an avid fan up north! - Leslie
